Named after Beacon Fell, our house values inclusivity, involvement and inspiration. We encourage all in our house to spread their wings, try out new experiences and draw from a wide range of talents. Our chosen emblem of a Buzzard is inspired by the woodland of Beacon Fell; it also represents our ability to seek out all opportunities, our keen intuition, and our calm-yet-fierce approach to competing.
Our motto “Be a Beacon” not only links to Beacon Fell’s historical past as a warning beacon during times of war and hardship, but serves as a reminder to all in our house to set a positive example and light the way for others.
