GCSE RESULTS 2018

Headlines – the school’s 2018 GCSE results show significant improvement on 2017 results. Where * is used, this indicates results in these areas are above Lancashire, North West and National averages for 2018.
• The vast majority – 99% – of students gained at least 8 qualifications
• 78% of students gained a Grade 4 pass or above in English*
• 53% of students gained a strong pass at grade 5 or above in English*
• 82% of students gained a Grade 4 pass or above for best English*
• 63% of students gained a strong pass at grade 5 or above for best English*
• 71% of students gained a Grade 4 or above in Maths*
• 40% of students gained a strong pass at grade 5 or higher in Maths
• 67% of students gained a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths*
• Attainment 8 score 47%*
• Not all our students studied the Progress 8 elements since a small number were following a different curriculum – this therefore affects the progress 8 score for the school – the provisional result is estimated at -0.29, but this will not be confirmed until January once the Government has recalculated all schools’ data.
